Tom urged all members to contribute to the Rotary Foundation before the end of June so the the club can earn the 100% Paul Harris Fellows goal.
Bill distributed the Return on Rotary statement to all members -- the current accounting for our volunteer and gift activity for the Rotary Year. Our account balances stand at: $3,250 in admin, $11,099 in foundation, and $15,500 in special activities.
Laura recommended that we host another Central Park Business Association happy hour similar to the event we participated in last year. The date agreed upon is April 3 at 5:00. The location is to be determined. Our last event with the association cost the club about $500.
Reno reports that he boosted the club's visibility on FaceBook for the week of 2/5 - Mar 3 announcing our speakers. He says the ad reached 2300 people and we received 11 responses after spending $54 on the ad.
Callie reminds members to get on ClubRunner.com and to get involved. All members have their own account and it's ready to use. She also discussed the Epic Day of Service and the hope that we can find a site for the greenhouse setup and completion on that date.
Steve and Frank distributed via email prior to the meeting a sample of the introduction flyer to be sent to friends and family announcing the NCAA Tourney Pick'em fundraiser. It was suggested that we add some information on how the club spends the money raised. Changes will be made and a final version, along with the link to create player brackets, will be sent to each member to forward to F & F's. It was agreed that we will collect player monies into a central payment platform to be determined soon.

Program - 3/4

Tom introduced Pietro Simonetti the chair of the City of Potenza in the Denver Sister City organization. Pietro came to the US when he was 17. He attended school in Iowa before going to work in New York. He moved to Denver after working as a professional ski instructor in several countries in Europe.

Potenza is one of 10 sister cities in the Denver program. It is a city of 60,000 situated in southern Italy. Although much smaller than Denver, Potenza is the original home to many of Denver's residents, immigrating early in the 20th century. The program includes a youth as well as an adult exchange program. Each year 6 students, out of over 1,000 applicants, are selected to travel to Potenza for 2 weeks. After their visit, six students come to Denver for the same period of time. There is a similar program for adults later in the same year. Pietro invited us to an event to raise money for the exchanges on March 15, the Potenza, "Feast Like A Roman" Dinner. Details can be found at denversistercities.org.
