• Slopes to Hope is a Breckenridge-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that diverts thousands of pounds of winter clothing from Colorado landfills and distributes them to homeless shelters, churches, schools, and nonprofits across Summit County, the Denver Metro Area, and Colorado Springs
• Mission and Impact
  • Founded on , Slopes to Hope partners with local hotels, resorts, and visitors to collect lost or left-behind winter gear — including coats, hats, gloves, blankets, and pillows — and repurposes it for those in need. Since December 2023, they have diverted over 20,000 pounds of clothing from landfills.
• How It Works
  •  Teams visit participating resorts and hotels to gather items left behind by guests.
  •  Clothing is sent to shelters, churches, schools, and nonprofits serving people facing housing or economic hardships.
  • Waste Reduction: Keeps high-quality winter gear out of landfills while providing essential items to underserved communities.
• Participating Locations
  • Slopes to Hope works with a wide network of resorts, hotels, and organizations, including:
  •  Breckenridge Ski Resort, Arapahoe Basin, Beaver Run, Keystone Resort, Grand Timber Lodge, Grand Lodge on Peak 7, Helly Hansen, etc.
  •  Marriott’s Mountain Valley Lodge, Hyatt Vacation Club at The Ranahan, Hotel Frisco, Grand Colorado on Peak 8, Hotel Alpenrock, etc.
  • Community Partners: Summit County Rotary Clubs, True North Recovery Services, FIRC SOS Outreach, Christ’s Body Ministries, and more.
• Donation Opportunities
  • Individual Donations: You can donate clothing directly to Slopes to Hope or participate in their “Pledge by the Pound” campaign, where donations are matched per pound of gear distributed.
